National Night Out (NNO) is a community building campaign, designed to:
(1) Heighten crime prevention awareness;
(2) Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs;
(3) Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
(4) Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

The Richland Park/Oaks Crime Watch needs more volunteers to help patrol our neighborhood. In order to join the Crime Watch Patrol, you will need to fill out an application form. A link to the application and additional information can be found on the City Website, www.cor.net. Each shift usually consists of 1 ½ hours of patrol time every other week. Crime Watch Patrols are effective because our cars, with their reflective signs, provide visibility and the criminals do not want to get caught. You must be a member of the Richland Neighborhood Association, go through a background check conducted by the Richardson Police Dept., and complete the 4-hour course. Please consider joining and learn what’s going on. Help us make this a safer place to live and enjoy for everyone. If you want more information, please contact me.
Remember to CLOSE and LOCK ALL DOORS, WINDOWS, and GATES. Take all valuables from your cars: laptops, purses, and keys. LOCK YOUR CAR. Share a smile with a neighbor. Be a WATCHFUL NEIGHBOR and thank the Patrol member that calls to remind you that your garage door is open. We are here for you.
Please email CrimeWatchCoord.for.RNA@gmail.com to contact me if needed.
