Keep Track of Your Valuables
We received a phone call from the Richardson Police Department with some good news. They have uncovered a major break in the burglary on the 500 Block of Wentworth because the homeowner happened to retain the serial number for property that was stolen.
Please understand the importance of tracking your valuables. Take a complete inventory, recording model and serial numbers. Keep several copies of this list in safe places, making sure to update the list with each new purchase. Be sure to engrave the letters “TX” (for Texas) and your driver’s license number on all valuables. You should also get your vehicle’s identification number (VIN) etched on the window glass (a free service offered by the police.)
These are extremely effective tools used by law enforcement to help fight crime.
